What's New: Matchup Stats Upgrade

Matchup Stats — April 2026

The matchup section on upcoming fight cards has been significantly expanded. Here's what's new:

Tabbed stats

• Striking, Grappling, and Finishing stats now live in separate tabs — cleaner and faster to navigate
• Swipe left/right on mobile to switch tabs

Finishing breakdown

• Win method breakdown: KO, Submission, Decision — shown as comparison bars for both fighters
• Loss method breakdown: same detail for losses, so you can see how each fighter gets stopped

Recent fights

• Last 5 fights shown side-by-side for both fighters, with results, opponent, and method

Common opponents

• Collapsible section showing fights both fighters have had against the same opponent
• See how they each performed and when

Improved stat coverage

• Strike absorption rate, strike defense, and takedown defense are now derived from fight history when ESPN's data is incomplete — more fighters have complete stat cards
